Clay Calm Designs

At Clay Calm, each piece is a practice in presence.

Formed by hand, fired by flame, and finished with care, every vessel invites you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect to yourself.

Created by trauma-informed artist and coach, Terri Allred, Clay Calm is more than pottery — it’s a mindful art form rooted in healing, regulation, and beauty in imperfection.

A woman with tattoos on her arms, wearing glasses and a gray T-shirt, smiles while working on pottery at a pottery wheel in a ceramics studio. She is wearing a white apron and is surrounded by shelves filled with various pottery tools, supplies, and unglazed ceramics.

Artist Statement

Terri Allred

I am a community-centered artist and trauma-informed facilitator who believes creativity can be a powerful path to healing. Clay invites us to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves and each other.

Through Clay Calm, I bring pottery to people and places that often don’t have access—shelters, recovery programs, community centers, and spaces where stress, trauma, and disconnection are part of daily life. No experience is required; only a willingness to touch the earth and explore.

My work blends art, nervous-system awareness, and compassionate space-holding so everyone can feel safe, seen, and supported as they shape, play, and discover what is possible.
